Advent Calendar

Today’s jigsaw puzzle is really cute, but again, some of the pieces were really damaged. One was so ripped that it didn’t seem to fit where it was supposed to go. Don’t buy advent calendars from Amazon, apparently! People use and abuse them, and then send them back to be resold. Anyway, yes, cute picture, though.

My Favourite Christmas Tradition

I thought I’d talk today about my favourite Christmas tradition that my parents and I have been doing for the past few years. It’s usually just the three of us on Christmas day, so we decided a while back to make it a big deal to stuff stockings for each other. My mom bought each of us an oversized one (mine’s the biggest of all!):

And now each Christmas we stuff them full of goodies, random bits and bobs… and BOOKS. Ohhhh yes… we raid used bookstores and bargain bins for books we think each other would like, and we basically spend Christmas week reading. Here are a couple of my hauls from the past few years:

It’s been a great way to build up my home library! And I have fun looking for books for my parents’ stockings every year, too. I highly recommend this tradition for any book lovers out there! (And yes, I’ll be sure to post about the Christmas books I get this year!)
